Rafe (Galen Gering) and Sami (Alison Sweeney) were well on their way to hot and heavy couch sex, as EJ (James Scott) stewed in a brine of his own making. However, Rafe got a call from Daniel (Shawn Christian) saying Nicole needed him at the hospital. After he left, there was a knock at the door. Sami opened the door to discover an angry EJ. He tormented her for a bit before seeing the Caller ID on the phone. She threatened to call the police, and EJ surprisingly left quickly.

Daniel arrived at the hospital to visit Nicole (Arianne Zucker). It didn't take long for her to tell him Jennifer (Melissa Reeves) pushed her down the stairs, causing her to lose the baby. Through tears, Nicole recounted all the things she could have done to avoid such a tragedy. When Rafe arrived to comfort Nicole, she wept in his arms. Nicole certainly proved the old adage that the best lie is one that has an element of truth in it. In this case, Nicole’s truth is grief over losing a child. Unfortunately, when EJ arrived at the hospital, he overheard Rafe and Nicole admit Rafe isn’t really the father.
