Will Daytime Talk's Biggest Stars Actually Attend The 40th Annual Daytime Emmys?
The majority of daytime talk's biggest names (Ellen DeGeneres and Kelly Ripa to name a few!) have skipped out on the Daytime Emmy Awards in recent years. Could that be changing this year? TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan posed the question to Scot Safon, executive vice-president and general manager of HLN, which will air the kudocast on June 16. Said Safon:
"We are outreaching as aggressively as possible to all the nominees," Safon says. "We want them to know this year is important. The themes that will rock this show are themes they will be proud to be associated with. To be in that room as part of the daytime community will be an incredible opportunity. The show is not just an announcement of winners. It's a celebration people are going to remember for a long time to come."

It would really be nice—and go toward generating buzz for the 40th Anniversary of the awards show—if at least the personalities from the nominated programs bother to show up. Ellen, Live With Kelly and Michael, The Talk and The View are all nominated for Outstanding Talk Show (Entertainment). The Doctors, Dr. Oz and Katie are all nominated in the Informative Talk Show category.
