One daytime soap alum recently appeared in a project which scored boffo ratings for Lifetime, while a vehicle featuring a few other soapers—one being the genre's biggest star ever—didn't do so hot for the cabler.

Jodi Arias: Dirty Little Secret, starring Tania Raymonde and As The World Turn's grad Jesse Lee Soffer, was watched by 3.1 million people on Saturday night. The ripped-from-the-headlines confection of lurid sex and bloody murder now ranks as the No. 2 original cable move of the year, following Lifetime's equally-tabloid-inspired, Prosecuting Casey Anthony.

Unfortunately for Marc Cherry, Eva Longoria and Susan Lucci, their new dramedy, Devious Maids, didn't get off to such a good start. The heavily-hyped dramedy was only watched by two million viewers. By comparison, both The Client List and Drop Dead Diva premiered to 2.8 million pairs of eyeballs on the former home of Tori Spelling and Patty Duke flicks.
