The Bold and the Beautiful Serves Up One Helluva a Birthday Surprise

Heather Tom may as well get her Daytime Emmy gear ready for next year’s ceremony, as she definitely served up her reel in Monday's episode. Taylor (Hunter Tylo) would not let Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) get away with her tryst with Bill (Don Diamont) — damn the psychiatrist's career, Katie’s heart or her relationship with Eric (John McCook) for that matter.

Taylor’s persistence opposite Katie’s insistence in believing she was lying, provided fantastic drama for this 30-minute soap opera,  especially when Brooke couldn't deny a damn thing. How heartbreaking was it to watch Katie beg the older sister, who meant the world to her, to tell her it was all a lie?

I only wish Katie would have smacked Bill harder. When Katie finally took Bill and Brooke to task for their sick betrayal—quickly cautioning them not to try and blame her—I applauded. It was if the writers of the soap opera were in my head.

I do wonder why Taylor didn't tell Brooke's loved ones about the aging sex kitten's desperate attempt to re-seduce Eric. If you're going to send your lifelong enemy down in flames, you might as well send her all the way down!

I must give a nod to little Miss Caroline (Linsey Godfrey).  I’ve been enjoying the schemer's comedic escapades opposite her web series producer pal.  Caroline acting as the writer, by spicing up episodes of what was supposed to be a sitcom-esque tale of two opposite sex roommates, was smart and witty.  It also kept out collective hearts from exploding from all of the intense drama over at Brooke's Birthday Party Takedown.
