Judith Chapman's return to The Young and the Restless was a breath of Gloria-ous, fresh air. Glo had a hard time believing her beloved grandson Fen (Max Ehrich) would overdose on drugs. She quickly blamed Lauren (Tracey Bregman), ripping her up one side and down the other.
Lauren pushed back against Gloria’s rant, saying she normally wouldn’t take it from a woman with such questionable mothering skills. Deep down Lauren knew her mother-in-law was right, however.
The moment Gloria found out Michael (Christian LeBlanc) and Lauren were back together, she did a complete 180, telling her daughter-in-law she always knew they'd make it. Y&R needs more Gloria and a lot less Dylan (Steve Burton).
At the police station, Michael tried to get Carmine (Marco Dapper) charged, but Paul (Doug Davidson) said there wasn’t enough to charge Lauren’s Italian stallion. Carmine strutted into the station wearing handcuffs. He proceeded to rub Michael's face in his strawberry-scented fling with Lauren.
Michael screamed out a threat to kill Carmine, only to be admonished by Paul. This better not be foreshadowing. Carmine is definitely a keeper!
Leslie (Angell Conwell) arrived to help get her client out of jail. When Paul let Carmine go, Michael became enraged and knocked items off an officer’s desk.
Jack (Peter Bergman) asked Nick (Joshua Morrow) how he could hide Summer's (Hunter King) "true" paternity. Nick insisted he believed she was his, pointing to their similarities. After Nick left, Summer showed up at the Abbott mansion.
Jack and Summer tried to come to terms with what had happened to them. Jack told the young woman to take her time. Up until this point, I hadn't really connected with King as Summer. This storyline has changed that. Unfortunately I cannot say the same for Hartley Sawyer's take on Kyle. If anything, his work in this arc has made me miss Blake Hood all the more.
Sharon (Sharon Case) explained to an adult Ghost Cassie (Camryn Grimes) why and how she changed Summer’s DNA test results. What has been done to Sharon is nothing short of a travesty. I can’t think of a single character in soaps in more desperate need of a full-blown rehabilitation
