Tuesday’s Days of Our Lives opened with Sami (Alison Sweeney) being arrested for the murder of Detective Bernardi in front of almost everyone in Salem. Sami was upset her arrest ruined the school opening. EJ (James Scott) called Justin (Wally Kurth), but couldn’t reach him. He demanded to be put in contact with Justin, right away. I understand Justin is Sami’s lawyer, but considering EJ is a lawyer himself, I’m surprised he couldn’t pinch hit until Justin arrived.
While Adrienne (Judi Evans) was waiting at the station for Abe (James Reynolds) to return, Bernardi’s widow arrived. She had been told something was happening. The two talked, which resulted in Adrienne comforting the widow.
The fallout of Sami’s arrest began almost immediately. One of the donors stormed off in a huff after demanding his donation be returned, because he wouldn’t support a project that was funded by a cop killer.
Poor Abe, the man spends so much time arresting friends or family.
Outside the school, Kristen (Eileen Davidson) ran into Brady (Eric Martsolf). She told Brady he should be with his family, but he stopped her.
At The Brady Pub, Ciara (Lauren Boles) asked if Sami could get married in prison. Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) said they didn’t know Sami was going to prison. Then, Victor told Ciara people get married in prison all the time. It was one of the funniest moments of the episode.
The special prosecutor grilled Sami about her grand jury testimony. Then, almost gleefully, he demanded to know how Sami’s statement of meeting Bernardi in passing matched with the video of her attacking him.
Justin demanded time with his client, and then ripped into Sami for lying to him, the prosecutor and the grand jury. Soon after Justin's tirade, Will (Chandler Massey) and Sonny (Freddie Smith) waltzed in. The prosecutor said Sami needed to be taken away. EJ assured Sami he’d fix the problem.
Tuesday’s episode ended with Sonny confronting his mother, and demanding to know if she was the one to turn in the video of Sami.
