SOAPnet's loss is proving to be TV Guide Network's (TVGN) salvation. According to the cabler's prexy, same-day airings of The Young and the Restless, in conjunction with reality series Big Brother: After Dark, are putting TVGN on the map.
"The two fan-obsessed shows book-ending our primetime line-up—Big Brother: After Dark and Y&R—have helped TVGN become the fastest growing entertainment network in the country," said Brad Schwartz, President of Entertainment and Media, TVGN.
Y&R has reportedly driven "triple digit increases" for the 7 pm timeslot among households (+198 percent) and women 25-54 (+125 percent). The Bill Bell sudser has averaged 362,000 total viewers, a 199 percent increase in the time period and delivered TVGN's biggest weekly audience Monday through Friday at 7-8 pm ever among households and women 25-54. Cue "Nadia's Theme".
