Death apparently does become CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless. While a whopping 72 percent of Daytime Confidential readers voted it wasn't worth killing off Delia Abbott to give the show a powerful new umbrella storyline, the Nielsen ratings are telling a much different story. Y&R saw its largest weekly audience in almost two years the week ending Oct. 27.
Daytime's No. 1 soap was watched by an impressive 4.92 million viewers the week in question. This was the sudser's biggest audience among total viewers since February 2012. In key female demographics, Y&R averaged 1.9 among women 25-54 and 1.3 among W18-49. Kyle Abbott (Hartley Sawyer) and Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) might wanna ask Santa for bright, orange, visible-to-SUV-drivers-with-eye-issues sweaters for Christmas.
