Switched at Birth and The Fosters are set to debut their new seasons on Monday, Jan. 13. Both ABC Family soaps deal with nontraditional blended families, and the ties that bind families will still be the most important thing when the programs return for their winter season.

On Switched at Birth, the Kennish-Vasquez clan will be dealing with Daphne’s (Katie Leclerc) probation at a health clinic. Meanwhile Bay (Vanessa Marano) is pursuing art education.

Over on The Fosters, the ramifications of Callie (Maia Mitchell) running away will play out. Look to see how it affects the other members of the family and adoption. Daytime talk show veteran Rosie O'Donnell is set to recur during the second half of The Foster's premiere season. The one-time Queen of Nice will play foster care worker Rita Hendricks. The serial is produced by The Bold and the Beautiful star Joanna Johnson.
