Judge Judith Sheindlin is set to continue her daytime dominance. Sheindlin is gearing up to launch a second syndicated courtroom show entitled Hot Bench.
The series, which has already been cleared in 75 percent of the country, will feature Judge Patricia DiMango and attorneys Tanya Acker and Larry Backman. The panel will hear court cases, argue the merits of the cases between themselves and issue a verdict.
According to Sheindlin, the idea for the series came about when she was in Ireland. Sheindlin revealed in a released statement:
When my husband Jerry and I were in Ireland recently, we visited the courts and watched a three-judge bench, which I found both fascinating and compelling. I immediately thought what a terrific and unique idea for a television program that brings the court genre to the next level.
CBS Television Distribution is stripping Hot Bench for fall 2014.
