Aria (Lucy Hale) was not taking the revelation of Ezra (Ian Harding) using her the whole time well. She was a little ball of rage that didn’t know how to get even, but it didn’t stop her from trying.
Ezra was away, so she went over to his apartment and completely trashed the place.
She also found all his notes about what he learned about the girls. He had a theory Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell) or Spencer (Troian Bellisario) hurt Alison (Sasha Pieterse) that fateful night.
After discovering Random House was on the verge of publishing his true-crime novel, Aria was poised to reveal her sexual relationship with “Mr. Fitz” to the school principal. Hanna talked her out of it, and instead, Aria left town alone.
Aria should have gone to the authorities. It’s what this stalker incarnation of Ezra deserves. There’s no way Ezra can come back from that betrayal. What he did was worse than if he had been “A.” Hopefully, Aria sues the jerk and goes on a media blitz when the book comes out to destroy his career.
Emily was still trying to get Alison her cash. Paige (Lindsey Shaw) finally confronted her gf about all the secrecy, so Emily came clean. She told Paige that Alison was alive. Paige urged Em to go to the cops, and let them deal with Evil Ali.
Emily refused, so Paige gave her an ultimatum. Paige would keep this bombshell a secret, but Emily had to cut off contact with Ali. Emily was livid. Things will soon get even uglier for the strained couple, since Paige ended up leaving an anonymous note to the cops telling them Alison was indeed alive.
Hanna spent more time with school hottie Travis (Luke Kleintank), and cutie cop Holbrook (Sean Faris). After Hanna had Holbrook help Travis’ dad out of a legal jam, she kissed the detective in thanks. Holbrook didn’t seem into it, though. He may be the only Rosewood cop without a thing for high school girls.
However, since Ravenswood has been canceled, neither potential romance will likely matter now that Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) is free to return.
Toby (Keegan Allen) and Spencer’s parents were really worried about her. Nevertheless, she did manage to talk them out of sending her to rehab. Then, “A” left a bottle of pills to taunt Spencer, who promptly fell off the wagon.
In a drug-induced haze, Spencer started putting a lot of things together. Remember in Season 1 when they teased Spencer was the one who attacked Ali? Pretty Little Liars is revisiting that; only now Spencer believes it too.
She heard about Ezra’s theory, and found out the P.I. her dad hired in the past was used to follow her—not her sister. The trance also revealed Spencer confronting Ali with a shovel that night (while in a drug-fueled rage), and Ali being terrified.
Since Spencer obviously didn’t kill Alison, what did she do that night? Why would Ali’s parents and her own cover it up? Is Spencer’s new theory that she’s a culprit in the crime just the pills talking?
