The Mouse House has found Anne Sweeney's successor. ABC News President Ben Sherwood has been tapped as the new Disney/ABC Television Group prexy. Sherwood will also inherit the title of co-chairman, Disney Media Works.



Sherwood's star has been on the rise in conjunction with Good Morning America toppling Today in the Nielsens. Here's hoping this guy is a better friend to daytime soaps than his predecessor was. It should be noted, Sherwood was the cat allegedly pushing for Good Afternoon America to take over General Hospital's timeslot a few seasons ago.
