Very soon, former One Live to Live star Sherri Saum (ex-Keri) will be giving birth to twins — two boys! Which is why the actress was checking out baby-related items when I ran into her at a recent gifting suite.
“We are over the moon about this and can’t wait,” said Saum, who is married to ex-OLTL leading man Kamar de los Reyes (ex-Antonio).
She's also pumped about former soap castmates Melissa (ex-Adriana) and David Fumero (ex-Cristian)living close by. “They just got a place close to ours and they can come babysit our kids every single day. It will be so wonderful!”
Saum is also in touch with ex-Llanview dwellers Melissa Archer (ex-Natalie)and Tuc Watkins (ex-David), as well as costars from Sunset Beach. "I am really good friends with Priscilla Garita (ex-Gabi). We see each other every week. Also Jason George (ex-Michael)and Dominique Jennings (ex-Virginia). We are a tightknit group, we’ve stayed close.”
You would think Saum might want to take some time off from The Fosters, her hit ABC Family soap, but no! There will be no breaks for the actress who plays Lena Adams Foster opposite Teri Polo as Stef Adams Foster. "I am hardcore, I just want to work, but I want to balance it well. I want to show my boys that I am a hardworking mama and set a good example.”
Saum said upcoming storylines on The Fosters, which centers on a lesbian couple and their blended family, could have viewers shedding a number of tears. “Keep the tissues handy. There will be some overwhelming feelings, both good and bad and everything in between!”
While Saum is experiencing major success in primetime, she truly hopes the daytime soap opera genre will continue to strengthen. “It’s been so weird with soaps being cancelled, and now people say it looks like there is a resurgence. People love their soaps. I hope the networks realize this and keep them on permanently.”
As for how Saum feels about her hubby, she gushed, “He is my best friend and partner and I love him so much!”
The Fosters returns Monday, June 16 at 9 EST on ABC Family.
