Sherri Shepherd Facing Nasty Custody Battle Over Unborn Child

The View's Sherri Shepherd has talked openly and often about her faith in God. One would imagine she is clinging to that faith, as her marriage and family are rocked by legal separation and a custody battle.

TMZ is reporting Shepherd's estranged husband Lamar Sally has filed for legal separation. Sally allegedly wants custody of an unborn child he and Shepherd hired a surrogate to carry. This sounds like a plotline from The View's ABC Daytime cousin General Hospital!

According to TMZ, Sally also wants spousal support, and is seeking to have the prenuptial agreement he signed ruled invalid on the basis of fraud. People is reporting Sally wants Shepherd to be granted "reasonable visitation" rights to the child, reportedly being carried by the surrogate. Allegedly, the fetus will be named Lamar Sally Jr.

This isn't the first time a marriage imploded on Shepherd. She had an equally contentious divorce from first husband Jeff Tarpley, with whom she has an 8-year-old son.
