May really isn’t shaping up to be Sherri Shepherd’s month. TMZ is reporting The View co-host's ex-husband Jeff Tarpley has filed an emergency motion to change the custody agreement the two have with their nine-year-old son, Jeffrey.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Tarpley filed the request in April. He alleges Shepherd's busy work schedule has left their special needs son unable to tie his own shoes. The documents further claim Jeffrey reads and writes at the second grade level.
Tarpley also claims Shepherd leaves Jeffrey with nannies who are ill-equipped to help Jeffrey, causing him to have poor self-esteem. He also accuses Shepherd of not showing Jeffrey how to properly groom himself, resulting in him having bad hygiene.
Tarpley, who was married to Shepherd for eight years, is seeking full custody of Jeffrey.
Shepherd also filed documents, asserting Tarpley is an absentee father and shouldn’t be in Jeffrey’s life. A judge vetoed Tarpley’s request, but has set a hearing for July. This news comes on the heels of Shepherd's estranged husband Lamar “Sal” Sally filing for separation and wanting custody of their unborn child via surrogate..
