Caterina Scorsone Upped to Grey's Anatomy Series Regular
Caterina Scorsone will be retuning to Grey's Anatomy next season as a series regular. Scorsone first originated the role of Dr. Amelia Sheperd on spinoff Private Practice, which was canceled in 2013.
Derek Shepherd's (Patrick Dempsey) brain surgeon little sis previously crossed-over to the mothership in 2010 and 2012. Late last season, Scornsone recurred on Grey's in an arc that saw her helping out her brother on a risky surgery.
The addition of a new series regular comes after the departure of original cast member Sandra Oh (Dr. Yang) last May.
