Another daily soap opera is coming to Hulu. This time the sudser in question won't hail from Pine Valley or Llanview. Try the land down under.
Starting July 14, long-running Australian soap opera Neighbours will be stripped exclusively in the U.S. via Hulu. New episodes of the serial will air Monday through Friday on Hulu and Hulu Plus. The five installments of Neighbours will follow their Aussie debuts by four weeks.
“Neighbours provides a delicious daily dose of Australian sunshine to soap-opera fans, and thanks to Hulu, we’re coming to the U.S. at a perfect entry point for first-time viewers,” said Jeff Siegel, VP Digital Distribution and Home Entertainment at FremantleMedia, which distributes the program globally. “The drama, the excitement and the intrigue are all wonderfully accessible to anyone eager to get hooked on the compelling storylines of Australia’s longest-running scripted television series.”
Neighbours follows the lives and loves of the citizens of Ramsay Street in the fictional suburb of Erinsborough. Pop star-turned-reality judge Paula Abdul will make a guest appearance during the soap's U.S. premiere week.
