Pretty Little Liars Recap: Run, Ali, Run

It was more of the same old, same old on Pretty Little Liars this week. However, “A’s” master plan got clearer, while one couple looked done for good, and the cops finally got a clue.

“A” sent them a taunting message after blowing up Toby’s (Keegan Allen) house, which freaked out the girls. Even though, like clockwork, this happens every time the girls think they’ve rid themselves of “A.”

Aria’s (Lucy Hale) beside herself because she thought “A” would use Shana’s (Aeriél Miranda) death against her.

The explosion was deemed a “gas leak” accident. Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) urged Hanna (Ashley Benson) to go to the cops, but of course she nixed that idea really quickly.

Ezra (Ian Harding) began looking for a link between Mrs. DiLaurentis (Andre Parker) and Bethany Young. Spencer (TroianBellisario) visited the orderly Eddie Lamb (Reggie Austin) at Radley, but he refused to talk about Bethany.

Aria helped Ezra investigate the Bethany Young connection through his old files. She also told them that their “lapse” the other night, was a mistake. She said they weren’t back together, which Ezra was bummed about. After the police came by to question Ezra about Shana, they hid all his files in Aria’s attic.

A drawing of Mrs. D being devoured by a demon in her backyard was anonymously delivered to Ezra. It was by Bethany. Since Ezra still had his cameras set up from when he was a stalker, he and Aria were able to see Eddie left it.

After Aria revealed all this to the other girls, Spencer got Aria a job as a volunteer at Radley, so Aria could continue to investigate.
“A” sent Alison (Sasha Pieterse) video message of “A” burying Ali’s mom alive. This confirmed Spencer’s dad didn’t kill her, although this info came shortly after Spence accused her dad of murder.

Spencer also tried to get her parents back together, but it didn’t work. She and her mom get to keep the house though.

Between the video and the explosion Ali was ready to skip town. Hanna was going to help, but Emily (Shay Mitchell) found out and flipped. Ali had gone back home to grab some fake IDs and a scarf, and as she was leaving, “A” came in and used the accessory to strangle her.

Emily came by just in time, and fought “A” off. Later, “A” sent Alison a text. If Ali left town, “A” would kill her next time.

Emily got Paige (Lindsey Shaw) to reveal the names in Mona’s (Janel Parrish) hit squad of Ali-haters. Now the girls knew Melissa (Torrey DeVitto) and Lucas (Brendan Robinson) were against them. Emily thought they could have blown up Toby’s house.

Travis (Luke Kleintank) also dumped Hanna because it seemed like she really wanted to be with Caleb. Travis, we hardly knew ye. The guy that played him was really cute, so hopefully ABC Family will find another show for him!

The Rosewood cops wanted Ali to come down with her father for questioning. It doesn’t seem like they buy Ali’s kidnapping/Philadelphia story. They wanted to question her about Shana.

Is “A’s” new grand plan to send Ali to prison?
