Rosie O'Donnell's upcoming return to The View couldn't come at a better time for the troubled ABC Daytime talk show. CBS Daytime's The Talk beat The View in key demos the week of July 7-13. This was the first full week of live shows since news of Sherri Shepherd and Jenny McCarthy's exits broke.
The Talk bested The View in both the women 18-49 and W25-54 demos for the first time ever, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the week ending July 13.
The Tiffany Network's gab-athon topped Whoopi and Co. in W25-54 by 10 percent (1.1/07 vs. 1.0/07) and by +14 percent in W18-49 (0.8/05 vs. 0.7/05). The View, however, did manage to keep its lead in total viewers, averaging 2.82 million compared with The Talk's 2.66 million.
Additionally, The Talk crushed The Chew by the largest margin in viewers since the week ending August 2, 2013 (vs. 2.43m, +9%), while matching its largest margin of victory over the daytime cooking program in both W25-54 (vs. 0.8/05, +38%) and W18-49 (0.6/04, +33%).
