Ronn Moss may be all for celebrity wife-swapping, but the Rock & Rolling soap hunk isn't down for actor swaps! Moss, who quit The Bold and the Beautiful after playing Ridge Forrester for 25 years, spoke out to an Australian publication about the sudser's decision to recast with Thorsten Kaye.
“The recast (Kaye) felt like a betrayal. For me, that was a sign of real disrespect. One thing I asked of Brad Bell (executive producer) was not to recast. But it was in a phone message from him that I learned he intended to do exactly that. That was it for me. There is no going back.”
Huh? If Moss chose to quit the serial, why is he ticked about the recast?
Moss went on to tell TV Week Soap Extra:
“I gave 25 years of my life to B&B, and that was enough,” he said. “Playing Ridge was all-consuming, and it meant I would never be able to do anything else. I had to take a leap, because for so long I felt as if I’d been on a treadmill. Just spinning my wheels.”
I am living my life for Kaye's grittier take on the Forrester fashion scion. The veteran of All My Children, One Life to Live and Port Charles has given Ridge much needed gravitas.
I would like to see Moss back on Daytime more frequently though. Maybe he can do another guest spot on General Hospital? With all the mischief Spencer Cassadine (Nicolas Bechtel) gets into, he can always use a Player to have his back!
