Executive Producer Julie Plec has confirmed there will be a new crossover between her CW shows The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.
Plec told Entertainment Weekly:
It looks like we are going to be able to do a crossover in the first half of the season, and I can’t tell you what or who or when because it hasn’t been shot yet, but things are looking good.
Since The Originals debuted last season, there have been two crossovers between the shows. One saw Tyler (MichaelTrevino) coming to visit the Originals in New Orleans, while the other had Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) return to Mystic Falls in the 100th episode of The Vampire Diaries.
While Plec was mum on details, she did divulge recently-returned-from-The Other Side-Original vampire Alaric (Matt Davis) would not be the focus of the crossover. However, she didn’t rule something like that out for the future.
Both vampire dramas return to The CW this October.
