Legendary comedienne Joan Rivers remains in serious condition at New York's Mt. Sinai Hospital. The entertainer, who won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Talk Show Host in 1990, was reportedly rushed to the hospital on Thursday, after she allegedly stopped breathing during throat surgery at a clinic.
Melissa Rivers, daughter and business partner to the comic icon, issued the following statement:
“My mother would be so touched by the tributes and prayers that we have received from around the world. Her condition remains serious but she is receiving the best treatment and care possible. We ask that you continue to keep her in your thoughts as we pray for her recovery.”
Among the many items on the 81-year-old's lengthy resume, is a five-year stint hosting The Joan Rivers Show in daytime. She currently hosts E!'s raunchy style show Fashion Police.
