ABC's #TGIT campaign is working. Shondaland's newest endeavor, How to Get Away with Murder, killed in the ratings.
The Thursday at 10 pm premiere earned 14 million total viewers and a 3.8 demo rating. This was up over 33 percent from Scandal, last year, in the same time slot.
Grey's Anatomy and Scandal also performed well at their new times. Approximately 9.8 million people tuned in for the season premiere of Grey's, while Scandal's season debut clocked in 11.9 million. This was a series high for the Kerry Washington-starring drama.
ABC, which beat out Thursday Night Football, enjoyed its best Thursday night ratings in five years.
