This week’s Scandal had Olivia (Kerry Washington) trying to take her relationship with Jake (Scott Foley) to the next level, as he secretly became more entrenched in B613 conspiracies.
Olivia woke up on the crazy side of the bed, and was annoyed Jake wouldn’t go to dinner with her father at the family home. He’s only the guy that tortured him and tons of others! Combined with Jake being shady about what he’s been up to, Olivia called off their friends-with-benefits relationship.
Jake found Charlie (George Newbern). Charlie revealed he helped cover up Rowan’s (Joe Morton) murders of Harrison, Adnan and The First Son. Jake wanted to confront Rowan so he changed his mind and agreed to the family dinner. When Olivia left the table to take a call, Jake tried to blackmail Rowan out of town, and out of Olivia’s life for good.
However, Command would not back down, and basically said he was going to kill Jake. It really seems like Jake doesn’t want to be the one to kill Liv’s dad, but he may not have a choice if Rowan stays on his path.
Fitz (Tony Goldwyn) was depending on his new Attorney General to get a gun control bill passed. David (Joshua Malina) liked POTUS’ adoration from inside the bubble. When it looked like he might fail, he busted out Jake’s B613 files again, to blackmail the judge.
The man had killed a mother and child in a drunk driving incident that was covered up. David felt good when the bill passed, less so when he heard the judge committed suicide. David should watch out. Jake might get murdery again on him, if he keeps misuing the B613 files!
Mellie (Bellamy Young) replaced her all-consuming grief with obsessing over a national news scandal. There was a video allegedly showing a newlywed pushing her husband off a cliff. Mellie put her lawyer hat back on, and started proving the woman’s innocence. After the bride was cleared without her help, Mellie fell back into her depression.
A charming Michael (Matthew Del Negro) continued to work his gigolo magic on Cyrus (Jeff Perry) until the lonely Chief of Staff agreed to pay for it. As soon as the transaction was complete, Michael reported to a pleased Lizzie (Portia de Rossi) about everything going according to their plan.
The case of the week saw Olivia help an old law school buddy track down her missing 17-year-old daughter. After they gave mom her address, Huck (Guillermo Díaz) discovered the woman was having an affair with the daughter’s boyfriend, and that’s why she ran away.
By the time Huck and Olivia got there, the daughter was dead. The woman was charged with murder. Olivia initially dropped the case, but then became convinced of her innocence, and took up the defense.
- Abby (Darby Stanchfield) and Fitz bonded. She finally informed him her name wasn’t “Gabby,” and then Fitz started peppering her with questions about Olivia. Smooth.
- Actually, Abby and Olivia are barely on speaking terms.
- Quinn (Katie Lowes) was really upset no one looked for her, after she spent the night dealing with Charlie. It just goes to show that Olivia could easily fire her and save the salary. #JustSaying
- Who is taking care of babies Ella and Teddy, or is this a Judy Winslow-on-Family Matters situation, and we’ll never see them again?
