The Young and the Restless grad Wilson Bethel is making power plays in primetime. According to Deadline, the Hart of Dixie heartthrob has snagged a role on ABC's upcoming drama, The Astronaut Wives Club.
Based on Lily Koppel's book by the same name, the 10-episodes drama follows the real-life story of the wives of the astronauts who made history during the space race. Bethel will play Scott Carpenter, one of the original seven astronauts picked to participate in NASA's 1959 Project Mercury.
Carpenter was also the fourth American in space and second to travel around Earth. Don't be nervous Dixie fans, Bethel will still be a part of The CW series since the show is currently on hiatus.
Bethel is also making noise behind the scenes. He has secured a blind script deal with Warner Bros TV for The CW.
