Days of Our Lives' Freddie Smith Charged With Vehicular Assault And OVI

Days of Our Lives star Freddie Smith (Sonny) has been charged in connection with the Oct. 7 car accident involving Smith and his girlfriend Alyssa Tabit. The Star Beacon Newspaper is reporting the Ashtabula County Prosecutor's office filed charged on against Smith on Nov. 14 for operating a vehicle while inmpaired (OVI) and vehicular assault.

Reportedly, Smith's blood alcohol test results showed he was over the legal limit of .08.  According to the newspaper, Smith's blood alcohol levels clocked in at .093 at the time of his accident.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol's report claims Smith was legally drunk when he lost control and crashed his car on Route 84 in Kingsville Township. Smith suffered minor injuries from the accident. Tabit is reportedly still recovering. Smith is facing  a fourth-degree felony charge for the vehicular assault and a first-degree misdemeanor for the OVI, if convicted.
