Eve Donovan's (Kassie DePaiva) scandalous hate sex with her daughter's boyfriend, J.J. Deveraux (Casey Moss),  is Days of Our Lives' hottest storyline. J.J. went back to goody-two shoes Paige (True O'Brien), following his first hook-up with her mom. Meanwhile, Eve was reduced to pretending  her father was sick in an attempt to break them up.

DAYS gave fans a holiday present when Eve and J.J. got naked again for the Christmas Eve episode. I recently caught up with DePaiva and co-star Shawn Christian (Daniel) at "Day of DAYS" to discuss all the shocking goings-on in Salem U.S.A.

Daytime Confidential: I talked to Casey Moss about filming your steamy sex scenes.

Kassie DePaiva: What did he say?

DC: He said, “She’s gorgeous.” That was his quote. He was hoping there would be a round two.

Shawn Christian: I guess you’ll approach those scenes a little differently now.

KD: I’m a little verklempt! The scenes, I thought they played really well. It will be curious to see what the fan base will say about them. You’re either going to love it or you’re going to hate it. It depends what side of the bed you’re sitting on, but whatever it is, it opens the door for great story fallout, whether it’s with Jennifer or Paige. It’s like ruh-roh. Something’s going to happen.

DC: Ever since Eve and J.J. met, there’s this music that plays in all those scenes together.

KD: [to Christian] Did you know that?

SC: You told me that.

KD: There’s like, [singing] "Oh, oh yeah!” It’s bow chicka bow wow. It’s totally porn music.

DC: We’ve been calling it that on the Daytime Confidential podcast.

KD: It’s going to be curious when I go to pick my Emmy reel. I’m doing some of my best work and there’s, “Oh, oh yeah!” People are going to be laughing. I’m going to have to talk to Brent, our sound editor.

DC: Poor Daniel’s been dragged into this sordid affair since Paige initially suspected him of being Eve's one night stand.

SC: I know. For once I’m truly an innocent victim, without all the benefits, I might add. That’s why Daniel’s going to be mad. He’s not going to be mad that she slept with J.J. He’s going to be mad that you blamed me and I didn’t get any of the benefits. What’s the point?

DC: Eve was flirting with Dr. Dan pretty hard when she first returned to Salem. He had his little hook-up with Kristen and Jennifer still has a thing for him. What is it about Daniel that makes his milkshake bring all the girls to the yard?

KD: I’ll tell you something. He’s a nice-looking, sweet milkshake, too.

SC: You sip it slow and suck it really hard. Sometimes it’s a bitter pill to taste, but, again, it elicits a response, whether I’m with Eve or Kristen or Jen or Nicole or Theresa, it’s very polarizing. People are always the same way.

KD: He has a natural sexual charisma. The camera is unbelievably kind to you and you’re charisma exudes out of you. I mean, it’s really wonderful.

DC: Let’s talk about both of your characters’ relationships with Jennifer, the uptight prude of Salem.

KD: She’s not uptight. She’s just set in her ways.

SC: She’s the moral bar.

KD: Yes, and she lives her life thinking this is the way life should be.  And life is never the way that it should be, it’s just the way that it is and she is always going to be going upstream without a paddle.

SC: It is a good character because every town, every village has that sort of moral authority trying to set the standard when the rest of the world’s in chaos. So it does allow these characters who make these awful choices to have conflict. That’s what makes this character relevant.

KD: Absolutely. And I think Missy [Reeves] plays it beautifully. She is so great.

DC: What’s the fallout going to be when she finally finds out about J.J. and Eve's tryst?

KD: Jennifer’s going to have to get over it. This secret’s going to stay a secret for a while. But the fallout is going to be great. I can only tell you that Missy Reeves is a superstar in it.

SC: They do an amazing job of telling this tale. I think the writers, they have a long-term form, but I think they were able to check the pulse of how this thing’s playing out and it is building such momentum. The plot still hasn’t fully even [developed.]

KD: I can tell you that it’s going to be interesting, because when the crew comes on set, they’re like, “Oh my God. I can’t wait for these scenes today.” And they’ve been saying that since this taped. I’m kind of shocked that people are finding it interesting.
