One Life to Live alum Susan Batten is finding success behind the camera. Batten (seen above with her husband) wrote the script for Showing Roots, a feature film about race relations in the South. The flick is set to begin filming this month, reports Deadline.

Orange Is The New Black scene stealer Uzo Aduba and Taken 3 actress Maggie Grace have been cast in Showing Roots. The movie is set to explore how the television miniseries Roots impacted a small Southern town.

Batten played beloved Luna Moody Holden on OLTL from 1991-1995. She reprised the popular role near the end of the soap's run on ABC in 2012 as Luna's ghost.
