Amid rumblings of contract negotiation drama over pay and/or guaranteed episodes, exiting General Hospital star Kristen Alderson (ex-Kiki) took to You Tube to explain in her own words why she's leaving the soap. The social media savvy starlet talked about being in this "amazing, little soap bubble" since she was 6-years-old and conveyed her desire to try new things.
What a refreshingly-sweet and classy exit strategy. No trying to hype up fans to have planes fly over Prospect Studios, or what not; just a genuine, sincere video post to the fans who watched her grow up.
Alderson played the role of Starr Manning from 1998 to 2012 on ABC Daytime's One Life to Live. She crossed over to General Hospital as the popular character following OLTL's cancellation. In 2013, the new character of Kiki Jerome was created for her, after Prospect Park, the company that licensed OLTL, forced GH to remove all OLTL characters.
Going through so many insane workplace transitions, while trying to lead the life of a normal 20-something had to be intense. We here at Daytime Confidential wish Alderson the best in whatever she does next!
