CBS isn't staying silent about former The Young and the Restless star Victoria Rowell's (ex-Drucilla) allegations against the Tiffany Network. Earlier today, Daytime Confidentialbroke news of Rowell planning to sue CBS and Sony (which distributes Y&R) for allegedly refusing to rehire her.
Rowell claims she's being denied re-employment as a form of retribution for the actress speaking out about diversity issues related to CBS Daytime's two serials, Y&R and The Bold and the Beautiful.
In a statement, CBS points out Rowell chose to vacate the role of Drucilla in 2007 of her own accord. "We were disappointed to learn that, after leaving the cast of The Young and the Restless on her own initiative, Ms. Rowell has attempted to rewrite that history through lawyers' letters and a lawsuit that has no merit. We harbor no ill will toward Ms. Rowell, but we will vigorously defend this case," said a CBS spokesperson.
Rowell has lawyered up with three firms representing her. Keep checking back with Daytime Confidential as this breaking news story develops.
