One of the sharpest producers in the game is no longer working at Days of Our Lives. Soap Opera Digest is reporting Lisa de Cazotte is out as co-executive producer of the almost 50-year-old soap opera. Albert Alarr has been promoted into the position.
de Cazotte had been DAYS' co-e.p. since 2012. I'm told she was instrumental in the creative turnaround the soap experienced in recent years.
The former Lisa Hesser began her soap career as an intern at One Life to Live in 1983. She went on to produce for OLTL, Santa Barbara, Sunset Beach and All My Children. De Cazotte served as executive producer of Passions for the supernatural soap's entire run and also served as showrunner for the critically-acclaimed second season of General Hospital: Night Shift.
Alarr has been a director at DAYS since 2003. He's been producing at the NBC soap since 2005. He's also directed for The Young and the Restless on and off since 2011 and directed occasionally for AMC. Alarr was a director for ABC's Port Charles during its entire run.
If you're keeping score, DAYS has now replaced their head writers and their co-executive producer, all ahead of the soap opera's 50th anniversary. As previously reported, Dena Higley and Josh Griffith have replaced Chris Whitesell and Gary Tomlin as the soap's heading writing team.
