Has General Hospital head writer Ron Carlivati stolen the Tardis from Doctor Who? He is taking the show on an adventure back to 1963.
TV Guide Magazine's Michael Logan revealed the ABC soap will celebrate its 52nd anniversary by featuring Jason Thompson, Rebecca Herbst and Ryan Carnes as original characters Steve Hardy (John Beradino), Jessie Brewer (Emily McLaughlin) and Phil Brewer (Roy Thinnes) respectively.
The debut plot centered on a tormented teen whose face was disfigured in a car accident, and had an almost spooky tone reminiscent of The Twilight Zone. "It's really captivating," says Carnes. "The aesthetic, the music, the mystery—everything draws you in. It's easy to see why the viewers would get into it and want to come back tomorrow."
