Days of Our Lives' Alison Sweeney Nabs First-Ever Daytime Emmy Nomination

She was one of the biggest stars in the daytime television galaxy during her over two decades on NBC's Days of Our Lives. Now Alison Sweeney is also a Daytime Emmy nominee.

Sweeney, who starred on DAYS as villain-turned-heroine Sami Brady from 1993-2014, snagged her first Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama series nomination Tuesday afternoon. The nominations were announced on CBS Daytime's The Talk.

Sweeney is competing against her former TV grandma Peggy McCay (Caroline), The Young and the Restless' Gina Tognoni (Phyllis),  Maura West (Ava) and Laura Wright (Carly) from General Hospital.
