As predicted, Chuck Pratt's brand of storytelling spiked big for about a month or so and now the bleed out begins. The Young and the Restless lost a whopping 321,000 total viewers over the previous week. (Source: Soap Opera Network)

Y&R also dipped in all major demos. Sister sudser The Bold and the Beautiful dropped 90,000 total viewers over the previous week and ABC Daytime's General Hospital fell by 40,000 over the previous week. A plot heavy GH tied its all-time low in the coveted women 18-49 demo for the second week in a row, yet was the only soap up in total viewers over the same ratings period last year (+87,000).

Days of Our Lives had the best week of all the daytime sudsers. The NBC soap posted gains in total viewers (+32,000), households, W18-49 and W18-34. God bless Eileen Davidson.

You may have noticed this column is light on actual ranting or raving. I'm still spent from the podcast we taped Sunday night. See you next Ratings!
