If anyone knows a thing or two about recasting, it's daytime soap opera alums. A pair of former suds stars are being replaced now that the pilots they starred in have gotten series orders at ABC.
Ex-The Young and the Restless and Pretty Little Liars star Yani Gellman appeared in the pilot for ABC's upcoming soap Oil. Gellman portrayed A.J. Menendez, the right hand man of oil baron Hap Briggs. A.J. is secretly spying on the ruthless mogul for a Saudi oil dynasty. He's also busy hooking up with Hap's daughter Lacey (Caitlin Carver) in the pilot. Both integral roles are being recast.
Guiding Light and One Tree Hill favorite Bethany Joy Lenz had a plum role in Shondaland's ABC pilot The Catch. Unfortunately, the cutie won't be going forward as the girlfriend of the con artist who bilks The Killing's Mireille Enos for everything she's worth.
