Serena's (Melissa Archer) plan was so simple on Days of Our Lives. Steal the tacky white elephant statue from Eric (Greg Vaughan) and make off with the hidden gems inside. At least I think that was the plan.
I will admit I've been quite confused by the plot — and I was able to follow all the beats of "Nighttime Hope"! A fan on Twitter had to explain to me that the hunky, menacing, foreign Xander (Paul Telfer) person is not in fact the son of Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Anjelica Deveraux (Jane Elliot, Judith Chapman).
So... why does he call Victor (John Aniston) "Uncle Vic"? Why would DAYS bring on a Kiriakis named Alexander and not make him turn out to be the Alexander who was born on screen two decades ago? Is the continuity supervisor wiling away the hours until #DAYS50 kicks off? That's my excuse for not paying attention to current storylines.
At any rate, the arc appears to have reached a climax this week. Thrusting, bulging Xander chased Nicole (Arianne Zucker) and Eric (Greg Vaughan) with his big, erect penis, er, pistol. Meanwhile, Dr. Daniel Jonas (Shawn Christian) enunciated very slowly to Serena his desire to learn what was going on with Nicole and Eric. For good measure, he yanked the sexy ginger's shoulders around a bit, sort of like a deranged chiropractor.
Elsewhere in Salem U.S.A, Brady (Eric Martsolf) told Aunt Maggie (Suzanne Rogers) he's too through with Jeannie Donovan (Jen Lilley), Eve (Kassie DePaiva) was digging up dirt on poor mental patient Laura Horton and JJ (Casey Moss) turned down righteous keggers in the park to moon over Lil Miss Wets-Her-Britches (True O'Brien).
