Earlier this week I ran an item revealing I was hearing rumors Michael Easton was out at General Hospital. I can now confirm the popular actor has in fact wrapped his stint as Dr. Silas Clay.
In 2012, Easton crossed over to General Hospital as surly cop John McBain, following the cancellation of ABC's One Life to Live. He was paired with his former Port Charles leading lady, Kelly Monaco (Sam), in a well-received romance. In early 2013, he reprised the role of Stephen Clay/Caleb Morley, a deranged rock singer who fancied himself a vampire.
When Prospect Park, the company that licensed the rights to One Life to Live, filed a lawsuit against ABC, the characters of John McBain, Todd (Roger Howarth) and Starr Manning (Kristen Alderson) all had to be written out. The three stars returned as Silas, Franco and Kiki respectively, but the initial magic the "Llanview Three" brought to GH was never restored. With Alderson having departed GH earlier this year, Howarth is the only one of the OLTL transplants left on the canvas.
