Wishful Casting: Grayson McCouch as Brooke Logan's First Love Dave Reed on Bold & Beautiful

General Hospital's loss could once again be The Bold and the Beautiful's gain. Silver fox Grayson McCouch opted not to reprise the recurring role of Agent Sloane on the ABC Daytime soap opera. I think the multi-suds veteran would steam up designer Forrester Creations sheets with eternal blonde bombshell Katherine Kelly Lang (Brooke Logan) on the 30-minute CBS drama!

Brooke has been in matriarch mode all summer on B&B. It's about time my favorite sex kitten got back to scratching up someone's back! What if McCouch recreated the Season 1 B&B role of Dave Reed?

Dave was a cop who romanced coed chemistry student Brooke back in 1987 when B&B began. Brooke broke Dave's heart when she called off their engagement after meeting wealthy playboy Ridge Forrester (now played by Thorsten Kaye).

With Ridge's daughter Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) currently lying about killing her cousin in self-defense, it's the perfect time for an ambitious cop with an agenda to descend on the House of Forrester — determined to expose all their dirty little secrets!

To add a few more layers, what if Dave turns out to be the estranged brother of Nick (Scott Turner Schofield)? Maybe Dave hasn't spoken to his sibling since Nick transitioned but now wants to try to be brothers again? Better yet, Dave could be Nick's ex-husband, who was devastated when his wife came home and tearfully announced she was born in the wrong body! Heck, maybe Nick also develops feelings for Brooke, leading to quite the unique love triangle!

B&B is doing a stellar job highlighting issues related to the transgender community. What if a bigoted psychotic starts targeting Nick, Maya (Karla Mosley) and others in L.A.'s transgender community? A heroic Dave would stop at nothing to unmask the mystery assailant before he harms someone the Forresters, Logans and Spencers care about!

One caveat though, Grayson would simply have to use his indoor voice. The guy is gorgeous and has killer stage presence but we can't have all that screaming and caterwauling in Belair. The neighbors won't allow it.

What do you guys think? Should B&B cast McCouch as a love interest for KKL, or am I way off base with this Wishful Casting? Sound off in the comments!
