CBS Daytime's The Young and the Restless was on the receiving end of major free publicity from a rival network's hottest show this past weekend. During Saturday Night Live's popular "Weekend Update" segment, Deenie, aka Somebody's Mom, (Kate McKinnon) gave a report on the Year in Daytime Soaps.
Judging from the nicknames ("Mustache Man", "Military Doctor", "Big Boobs", "Priss Pants, "Red Head") and storylines (a triangle for "Big Boobs", "Military Doctor" and "Priss Pants"; "Mustache Man" hiring a man who looked like "Red Head's" husband; "The Skyscraper Fire") she cited, the only sudser Deenie watched in 2015 kicks off each episode with "Nadia's Theme".

McKinnon and Colin Jost were barely able to keep it together as she detailed how "Sexpot" (Adam), "Hottie" (Nick), "Skinny Minny" (Victoria) and "Priss Pants" (Abby) own a fish cannery with their father, "Mustache". So THAT's what Newman Enterprises does?!
The Tina Fey and Amy Poehler-hosted installment of SNL netted the variety show its second-best overnight ratings for the season, hitting a 5.1 in households and a 2.6 among adults 18 to 49. That means a lot of younger people were googling: "Which soap opera has someone with a mustache?" over the weekend.
