Primetime soap opera queen Taraji P. Henson won the first Golden Globe of her two-decade career Sunday night. Henson took home Best Actress in a TV Series, Drama for her outrageous turn as crack dealer-turned-music mogul Cookie Lyon on Fox's hit Empire.
Henson hilariously passed out cookies to audience members on her way to the stage. She then talked about the irony of finally winning a Golden Globe for her popular television role, after years of high profile film parts.
Henson went on to shade Golden Globes producers for putting a message on the teleprompter for her to wrap up her acceptance speech. "Please wrap? Wait a minute, I waited 20 years for this, you’re going to wait," she declared in feisty Cookie fashion. Watch a video of Henson's big moment below!
