Last month, I reported negotiations between Herbst and GH had hit a snag.  A major fan outcry followed on social media, with fans creating the hashtag #KeepBeckyGH on Twitter.  I hear the brass at ABC had no choice but to pay attention to the groundswell of support for Herbst.
