The steamy Lake is a murder mystery set in a tony enclave, featuring four well-heeled, deadly wives and their abusive husbands. Former DAYS hunk Kyle Lowder will appear in the adaptation. He also played an integral role in bringing the project to fruition. “Bringing Ken Corday's novel to life is something that I wanted to do from the first time I read it," said Lowder. "To have the opportunity to work with Michael Caruso and all the talent involved, both in front of and behind the camera, is truly inspiring.”
Sonia Blangiardo, a veteran of daytime and web series, will direct the mini-series. The two-time Daytime Emmy winner also directed Caruso's Winterthorne, which is nominated for a Daytime Emmy this year.
"Ken has been behind us since day one, giving us the freedom and creative control to adapt his novel," said Caruso, who wrote the digital adaptation based on Corday's prose. "He has been incredibly generous throughout the entire process and working alongside Kyle on this has been extraordinary. We are pulling out all the stops to whip up a really fun ride for the audience.”
For his part, Corday seems quite excited to see what Caruso and Lowder cook up. “When Kyle and Michael unveiled their vision for transforming Ladies of the Lake into digital episodes, I was delighted," said Corday. "Our creative collaboration is a burst of fresh energy which stays true to the original story and also introduces these beautiful, intelligent, complex women to a broader audience."
