Don't mess with Holly Robinson Peete's family, or in this case her family's OWN reality series! The For Peete's Sake star wasn't impressed with Wendy Williams' negative assessment of the wholesome docu-sitcom during a segment on the media maven's daytime talk show.
"Holly, Rodney, You know I love you Peetes. I tried but I got to tell you something. There's no place on TV anywhere it seems for shows like this. The bar has been risen. Mrs. Peete is 80-years-old, she's dating, she's cute but nobody cares."
Williams continued to drive her point home, saying:
"Holly's got the cute kids with Rodney. They've been married forever, but I don't think people care," she continued. "That's sad for us, for TV watchers. Not for people who try to keep it together and be family and be good examples. That's all."
Robinson Peete didn't let Williams' remarks go unchallenged. She tweeted:
For Peete's Sake centers on the 21 Jump Street alum's multi-generational family, including former NFL star husband Rodney Peete; their children: Ryan, Rodney, Jr., Robinson and Roman; and Peete's mother. RJ Peete was diagnosed with autism at 3-years-old. His journey with the neurodevelopment disorder is explored in the program.
Robinson Peete has a history of holding her own with brash daytime divas. She and Leah Remini were fired from CBS Daytime's The Talk after its first season following allegations they didn't get along with Sharon Osbourne.
