The cast and crew of The Bay is having a really good spring. On the heels of announcing the series is moving to Amazon Prime and has tapped General Hospital legend Wendy Riche as a consultant, the web soap won three Daytime Emmy awards Friday night.
The Bay took home awards for Outstanding Digital Daytime Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Digital Drama Series (Kristos Andrews) and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Digital Drama Series (Mary Beth Evans).
Created by Gregori J. Martin, The Bay is the Southern California-set saga of the long-suffering Garrett family, headed up by heiress Sara Garrett (Evans). Andrews plays her youngest son, Peter. Once the family screw-up, Peter ascended to the ranks of Garrett savior when his mother was sent to prison for a long-ago crime.
The show's cast is basically a "Who's Who?" of daytime legends, including: Tristan Rogers, Nicolas Coster, Judith McConnell, Patsy Pease, Ronn Moss, Judi Evans, Lilly Melgar, Terri Ivens and Matthew Ashford.
