The Bold and the Beautiful Wins Daytime Emmy For Outstanding Writing

The Bold and the Beautiful

CBS Daytime's The Bold and the Beautiful merged a powerful transgender coming out saga with a very unique love story last year. Sunday night, the soap's NATAS peers rewarded the half-hour drama's storytellers with the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series Daytime Emmy

The story of Maya Avant (Karla Mosley), an ex-con-turned-fashion model who hid the fact that she was transgender from wealthy boyfriend Rick Forrester (Jacob Young), was by far the most topical storyline daytime has told since the glory days of Bill Bell, Agnes Nixon and Claire Labine. Kudos to Brad Bell, Michael Minnis, Patrick Mulcahey, Michele Val Jean, Adam Dusevoir and the rest of the B&B writing team!
