Justin Hartley on Double Duty at Y&R and This Is Us: "I Don’t Know If I Can"
The soapverse is on pins and needles wondering whether The Young and the Restless scene snatcher Justin Hartley will be dipping out of Genoa City as its black sheep . In case you live under a rock, Hartley's primetime series for NBC, This Is Us, was picked up for the fall and is one of the peacock network's must see shows.
During NBC's time at the Television Critic's Association (TCA) Summer Press Tour, Hartley was on hand doing interviews for his highly anticipated show. He opened up about his status at Y&R. Hartley revealed:
I’m going to have to do this for a little bit here. There’s a definitely a break (at Y&R). I don’t know if I can (do both shows). I try to stay out of that, and gladly don’t wear that hat. I’m on all three networks … for the moment. Mistresses is on tonight. I think if I remember correctly, when I talked to CBS about doing Y&R; they agreed to let me do Mistresses. When this came down the pike, my friend Michael Rady gave me the script and said, ‘You’ve got to read this thing.’ I knew I had to do it. I knew I needed to do everything I could possibly do to try to get this part. This show is so special. The episodes I’ve read are just getting better, if that’s possible. I ’m in love with it so I knew I had to do it.
Alright now CBS and NBC, ya'll better let him do both!
