Soap Star Kassie DePaiva Reveals Battle With Leukemia
Kassie DePaiva (Eve, Days of Our Lives, ex-Blair One Life to Live) revealed on her website she was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a blood cell cancer, during her time off in July.
DePaiva shared she spent six weeks in a hospital undergoing treatment. Although she has three more months of treatment ahead of her, she stated that the outlook for recovery is good. Even better, she said it was likely she won't need a bone marrow transplant to achieve a cure.
She credits "prayer warriors, family, and friends that have been extremely supportive and life affirming throughout this."
