Ex-Y&R Actor Lamon Archey Cast as Biracial Horton on Days of Our Lives

Days of Our Lives is finally getting a black Horton. Decades after the show was first rumored to cast a biracial son for wayward doc Bill Horton (last played by John H. Martin), the NBC soap opera is reportedly bringing on the son of David Banning (last played by Gregg Marx) and Valerie Grant (Vanessa Williams). Jason47 is reporting The Young and the Restless alum Lamon Archey (ex-Mason) has been cast as Eli Grant, Valerie and David's illegitimate son.

I'm assuming DAYS will reveal Valerie reunited with David off screen at least a decade after their initial 1970's era romance. It's the only way the interracial couple having a secret 30-something son makes sense.

David sired Scotty Banning (last played by Rick Hearst) with Trish Clayton (Patty Weaver) in the late 70's. Considering Hearst (who played a SORASed Scotty from 1989-90) is in his 50's, Scotty can't very well have a 30-year-old "older" brother! Then again, this is DAYS where EJ DiMera (James Scott), who was born in 1997, some how managed to end up the much older stepfather of Will Horton (Chandler Massey), who was born in 1995.

Eli will find lots of family in Salem U.S.A. In addition to his mom, there's paternal grandmother Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes), great aunt Hope Williams Brady (Kristian Alfonso), first cousin once removed Ciara Brady (Vivian Jovanni), first cousins twice removed Jennifer Horton Deveraux (Melissa Reeves) and Lucas Horton (Bryan Datillo) and second cousin Claire Brady (Olivia Rose Keegan) to name a few.

He's also kin to Jennifer and Lucas's respective broods, which could make dating a wee bit difficult for the newcomer. Good thing the Hernandez clan is around for Hortons to penetrate without fear of causing Greek tragedies.
