Days of Our Lives fans can breathe a sigh of relief. Broadcasting & Cable is reporting Megyn Kelly's upcoming NBC Daytime talk show will replace the under-performing third hour of The Today Show

NBC declined to comment to B&S on the record. However, a network source revealed the timing for Kelly's arrival at NBC from Fox News hasn't been cemented.

The 9 am hour of Today, currently hosted by Al Roker and Tamron Hall, has proven problematic for NBC. Billy Bush, who previously co-hosted with Roker and Hall, was involved in back-to-back scandals, first defending Ryan Lochte's Rio shenanigans and later being a central player in a hot mic saga that found Bush and Donald Trump making lewd comments about Days of Our Lives star Arianne Zucker before an Access Hollywood segment.

You don't have to be Kevin Bacon to see how these real life plot twists connect. Kelly, whose profile rose after she took on Trump during the 2016 Presidential race, is now slated to replace the Today time slot Bush was once thought to salvage. Kelly's lucrative deal with NBC not only gives her a daytime talk show, but a Sunday evening program and a stake in the network's political news coverage.
