The Phoenix isn't the only one who manages to rise from the ashes. Venerable daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives has once again returned from the dead!  TVLine's Michael Ausiello got the exclusive scoop from NBC.

Peacock President Jennifer Salke seems stoked to continue letting sand run out of DAYS' hourglass five days a week. Read her statement:

“We feel so privileged to be able to continue the remarkable legacy of Days of our Lives. We thank Ken Corday and his team for their incredible accomplishments and look forward to all the stories from Salem that will continue to unfold.”

The soap opera's executive producer and co-owner is also understandably feeling celebratory. Said Ken Corday:

“It’s a great day in Salem… We are grateful to our incredible network and longstanding partner Sony for their continued support, and we look forward to what the future will bring under the new creative direction of the show. I’m especially proud to be able to shepherd Days into the new season, continuing my parents dream and the show’s legacy.”

The sudser's new head writer is also levitating over social media like a possessed Dr. Marlena Evans. Ron Carlivati retweeted Soap Opera Digest's article on the renewal:

News of Megyn Kelly's upcoming NBC talk show caused panic among the soap industry and fans about the future of DAYS. It turned out, morning TV watchers who enjoyed Al Roker and Tamron Hall's hour of The Today Show were the ones who should have been worried.
